If you are new to AE I am guessing that your composition settings are wrong. Open them up and check to make sure that duration is set to the full length of the song.
If you just cannot get a full ram preview of the song then that may be comp;lately normal and you need to study up on how AE works.
If neither of these suggestions solve your problem then please give us a detailed workflow and include a screenshot that shows your composition selected in the Project panel so we can see the settings or the music track selected so we can see the properties and maybe we can help.
Hi Rick , i'm brand new @ AE however i have software skills , there are 8 scenes in the hive with a total of 1.16 minutes. The song i bought apart from it lasts 2.18.
So i want scene 8 to last till the end of the song with some text in it.
i changed already some composition settings of scene 8 but it isn't quite working yet
Software skills have nothing to do with AE skills. If you have nested comps in your project and you want to retime them then you either have to go into those compositions, find all the keyframes and layers that need to have the timing changed, and then make adjustments to the keyframes, or you can use Time Remapping to change the timing. Without a screenshot and details it's impossible to tell you what needs to be done.
Sorry, but simple possession of a template does NOT guarantee AE success. The reason: template developers assume the user has pre-existing AE knowlege, which can range from beginner to advanced levels. Simply put, you're biting off more than you can chew at this point.
You could face multiple levels of nesting, layers can have expressions that would need modification, you may have to modify certain effects settings... any number of things. I already see that you're using an mp3 file, which is unwise in AE; convert it to wav or aiff.
Your best bet at this point is to learn the basics of the software. Learn the thinking and logic behind the application. The best place to do that is here:
If your software skills are good, you should be able to pick it up quickly and proceed.
