It shouldn't. Although Vista did have its issues...
Which version of the program are you trying to install?
Thanks for replying. Version 1. it did eventually install! Even though I get the message "the currently installed sound card driver does not support Direct Sound Input. Recording audio is not possible" I am not sure if this really matters. I can load video media and it plays sound. I am decommissioning on XP desktop to a not quite so old laptop so it looks like I will be able to transfer old Elements files which I did not want to loose just yet. So far so good.
Glad you got it to work, Steve. That's a 12 year old, fairly primitive program you've got there! It's certainly got its limitations -- but, if it does what you need and you're only editing miniDV footage, I guess it's all you need.
