Why did you buy before trying?
In any event - this is a user-to-user forum, you'll have to contact Adobe directly to see if they agree that your failure to test is grounds for a refund.
maybe you have the beta?
like scott kelby..who´s LR crashed during his first life show ( "oh oh oh.... it´s the beta!" ).
well if only all the bugs would have stayed in the beta.
i agree the hype was nice.. but the actuall release of LR6/CC was a letdown......
facial recognition is a joke compared to facial recognition in picasa and other solutions.
GPU support is also a joke (i have a GTX 980).
the pano feature is unusable for more then VERY basic panos (try to stitch interiors with LR.. good luck!!!).
i mean when you don´t mind that some straight lines show jumps and all other kind of artifacts don´t bother you... you can use it.
my source images are as good as they get for a stitching engine (tripod, nodal point correct... etc.) still LR manages to do it much worse than my prefered stitching tool.
not a single new feature for geotagging.... really?
maybe adobe developers should have a look at the free tool GEOSETTER (coded by a single person by the way).
overall LR 6 is not worth the money.
i get it "for free" as subscription user.. but the 129 euro for the standalone... wasted!
The answer is Trust. I have found Adobe software to be excellent in the past.
