I'm planning to make a voyage of nature photography into a region without possibility of any internet connection. I will carry an android tablet and a 1TB-HDD with me. What will happen with Lightroom CC? Will I have any possibility to store and edit my photos local?
Lightroom CC requires internet connection once a month, so it can check to see if your license is paid. Other than that, Lightroom CC can operate without internet access.
From Vitoria Bamptons FAQ on Lr Myths
No. You briefly need internet access to activate Lightroom. If you’re a CC subscriber, it ‘phones home’ now and again to check your subscription status, but you can be offline for up to 99 days before it reverts to a limited mode (no Develop, Map or Sync). If you have a perpetual license, Lightroom remains activated until you deactivate it.
