Yes - ActionScript has solid support for regular expressions. See Chapter 10 of "Programming ActionScript 3.0".

I already tried using reg exp but the problem there is that it uses quantifiers, not wildcards.
After doing some tweaking, i was able to implement for '*', but not for '%' & '?'.
You should be able to substitute ".*" for a "*" and a "." for a "?". What's your desired match behavior for the %? When used in sql with a like operator, this is the same as "*", isn't it?
Sorry for replying so late Tim... I stopped at '*' for now due to time constraints. I ll soon start trying implement "%" & "?".... Cud u plz help me again then:)
