On what computer operating system is your Premiere Elements 12 running? Have you updated 12 to 12.1 yet with an opened project's Help Menu/Updates. If not, please do so.
Do you have audio on any other track beside Audio 1 and Narration Track? Did you lose the audio on Audio 1 after you added narration to the Narration Track using the program's Narration Tool?
If you have 12/12.1 and have experienced loss of audio from the numbered audio track and/or soundtrack when your narration from the Narration Tool was added to the Narration Track, then it is highly likely that you have run into a known Premiere Elements 12/12.1 issue which is described in the following blog.
If this applies to you, please try the solution of Llamadude and determine if any of the solutions in the blog work for you.
We will be watching for the outcome.
Thanks a lot!
I now know where may be the problem. I simply deleted a couple of last Narration clips and sound on Audio was restored. Will try to rerecord
with Mute off.
By the way I have MAC OS Maverics and my applications are up-to-day
Thanks for the follow up. Great news of solution possible.
When your schedule permits, please let us know if you were able to re-record the narration with the Narration Tool and still keep the sound in the numbered audio tracks and soundtrack.
It looks like the recipe works.
I was able to rerecord the narration when Mute square was unchecked and sound on Audio tracks was preserved.
Wonderful news. Great job sorting out those numbered audio track, narration track, and soundtrack details.
Continuing thanks to Llamadude for finding the recipe for the fix a while back.
To this day I have not been able to reproduce the problem to give it a big study.
Best wishes moving forward with your Premiere Elements projects.
