"the file could not be found" after apple update. Prior to the update, I would drag only the photos I wished to edit from iPhoto to lightroom and edit them. However, after I updated from iPhoto to apple photos, the connection between my edited photos and lightroom no longer exists and I receive the above message. I know where the photos are (in the package contents of my iPhoto library). however, when I try to locate the photos by clicking on the exclamation point (on the thumbnail of the photo) that signifies the photo can't be found, I cannot open the iPhoto package contents. does anyone have a solution?
I would recommend you take them away from Photos application entirely.
File > PlugIn Extras... > Import from iPhoto.
However. If you want to continue to manage with Photos AND Lightroom you can create an alias of the Masters folder (in the package contents) and place it in a suitable location. Lightroom will be able to see this folder in the import dialog.
Locate one of the images that is missing and it should be able to locate the others too.
The alias suggestion worked.
