I just downloaded and installed Lightroom 6 into my C drive. (It had about 48GB free space.)
I got Windows 8.1 system with 2 drives C:SSD 118GB for OS and programs, D: 1TB for data and store pictures.
Before installing Lightroom6, the free space was about 48GB.
After installation and loaded Lightroom, it pop up a message box and mentioned "there's not enough space in C drive". It asked for 20GB or more space.
Lightroom6 installation shouldn't occupy 48GB.
What is the problem and what should I do?
In the LR Preferences dialog, "file handling" tab, check your settings for the location and size of the Camera Raw Cache.
In the Catalog Settings, "file handling tab, check your "preview cache" settings.
Thank you so much for the reply.
I checked the Camera raw setting in "filehandling" tab. The cache location is in C:\user\graphics
Maximum size is 1.0GB.
Video cache size is 3.0GB maximum.
After I cleared both Camera Raw and Video cache, the C: drive went back to about 50GB free space.
I did change the cache location to D: drive.
You got the correct answer.
