My goal is to do a data merge of a business card, then export each business card to pdf individually with a certain filename.
The document I use for merging has fonts in the Document Fonts directory, they are not installed on my machine.
I call this method:
A new document is created and everything works, except for the fonts, they are not recognized because they are only available in the Document Fonts directory of the original document.
I've tried to set the following dataMergeOption as a possible workaround:
createNewDocument = false;
This doesn't seem to do anything however. Any input on this problem is greatly appreciated.
Have you declared the font?
myText.appliedFont = app.fonts.item("Adobe Caslon Pro"); myText.fontStyle = "Semibold Italic";
I am not sure that you can use the font for export without it being installed on your system but that may be worth a shot.
InDesign automatically loads any font that is in that folder when you open the document! That means in order to use the font, you don’t have to use a font manager or find the fonts folder or anything. You simply open the document and the font is there, ready to use. This is very, very cool. However, it has a flip side: The font only works in that one document. You cannot use it in any other document you open!
