    Firefox issues

    dbr 200 Level 1
      Is there a particular issue with Firefox, regarding links and Window open behaviors? It's not following code the way the other browsers do. Two things I've had a problem with so far: links that should open in a new window (_blank) open in the same window; and new windows that open with 4level open browser plug-in don't have a scroll bar.

      I'm still learning all this stuff, so thanks in advance for any help.

          Firefox tends to do everything correct. So it's likely doing whatever it
          should be doing based on your markup.

          Firefox also gives end-users a higher level of control over how new pages
          are opened.

          The best way for us to help you is for you to post the URL of the pages in
          question so we can see the actual markup and javascript.

            I haven't uploaded them. I'm waiting till everything is finished, because I have a website and I don't want to screw it up until I have this all fixed. The Firefox window that it opens in also doesn't have resizing capability. It's a totally fixed window.

            I can copy the html for the behavior- I think that's what you need to look at. Because the file itself is a regular window. It's the 4level open browser behavior that determines the size that it appears on the screen.

            Here's part of it which I think is enough to show you. This was imported from Fireworks (I know, I know) so the names of the gifs are generic.

            <td><a href="#" onclick="Lvl_openWin('paper.htm','','700','800','300','0','0','width=700,height=800');ret urn document.MM_returnValue" onmouseover="MM_swapImage('DBRUFF_INDEX_3_r3_c2','','../../Documents/website07/images/DBR UFF_INDEX_3_r3_c2_f2.gif',1)" onmouseout="MM_swapImgRestore();"><img src="../../Documents/website07/images/DBRUFF_INDEX_3_r3_c2.gif" alt="" name="DBRUFF_INDEX_3_r3_c2" width="139" height="19" border="0" id="DBRUFF_INDEX_3_r3_c2" /></a></td>
            <td colspan="2"><a href="#" onclick="Lvl_openWin('installation.htm','','700','800','300','0','0','width=700,height=80 0');return document.MM_returnValue" onmouseover="MM_swapImage('DBRUFF_INDEX_3_r3_c3','','../../Documents/website07/images/DBR UFF_INDEX_3_r3_c3_f3.gif',1)" onmouseout="MM_swapImgRestore();"><img name="DBRUFF_INDEX_3_r3_c3" src="../../Documents/website07/images/DBRUFF_INDEX_3_r3_c3.gif" width="124" height="19" border="0" id="DBRUFF_INDEX_3_r3_c3" alt="" /></a></td>
            <td><a href="#" onclick="Lvl_openWin('bookobjects.htm','','700','800','300','0','0','width=700,height=800 ');return document.MM_returnValue"

              Well, then help might be slow in coming. We really need to see the live code
              on a working site to best help.

              No reason you can't upload your page to another directory for now just to
              let others see the code to help you out.

              We'd need to see the entire javascript functions.

                okay, I uploaded the pages but not the images:

                http://dbruff.net/DBRUFF_INDEX_3.htm

                and

                http://dbruff.net/bookobjects.htm

                The second page is the one that is opened by the level4 open browser extension.

                Thanks

                  Select the image you applied the Behavior to and open the interface by
                  clicking in the Behaviors Panel. Then check the "scrollbars" option.

                    Oh, you can also check the "resize" option as well if you want the window to
                    be resizable.
