Scratch Disks and Media Cache Database for optimal performance with Premier Elements 10

      Hi all,

I'm using a MacBook Pro 2011 with Windows 7 Pro Boot Camp (Don't ask )

I never know how to set up my Scratch Disks and Media Cache Database for optimal performance with Premiere Elements 10.

I have a internal 256gb SSD that I have the OS and Program Files Installed on and a internal 500GB HDD (I removed the optical drive and installed a second HDD) that I use for data storage.  I also have plenty of external HDD via USB but have read it is best not to use external storage when working on projects?

I store working images, video and audio on the HDD (D: drive) and move them to external storage when not in use or the project has been completed (to save space on the HDD)

Could you give some guidance on the optimal way to set up my Project and Disks so that I can optimally edit videos etc.
