Not sure how the switch happened in the first place, but I couldn't find any info as far as setting punctuation character used in time display. Obviously it's not stopping me from working on anything, but there's something so annoying about seeing those semi-colons there instead of colons. Thanks for any help!
That is an indication of drop-frame timecode versus non-drop-frame timecode.
It is important to understand that the difference between drop frame and non-drop frame timecode is only in the accuracy of the time displayed. Drop frame timecode displays real time in hours minutes and seconds, whereas non-drop frame timecode does not. If you are creating projects for broadcast including commercials you must use drop frame time code so that your program length is accurate in real time. length is accurate in real time. The total number of frames does not change, only the accuracy of the display time.
