If you are filling out fields in the Metadata section on the right side of the Library Module, then the metadata is now stored in the Lightroom database, and when you export the photo, it will be included in the exported photo (unless you choose an option that tells Lightroom not to include the metadata).
This does not change the original photo.
I selected the "tab" titled metadata...that is how i entered my information. Im guessing that is not the correct way, as it is not the way you said. Thank you for the response.

I believe I said this was the way to do it. In the Metadata section, you type in whatever metadata you want.
Then when you export the photo, the metadata will be contained in the exported photo file.
I figured it out...my photo wasn't open just a thumbnail. Now that it's open completely, I was able to find the Metadata on the right side & enter info. Thanks...now, if I could just figure out how to use the presaved metadata info for my photos vs. having to enter the data each time..that would be great. But still very happy I was able to get this done with your help. Thanks!!
presaved metadata info
I am not familiar with this concept. Could you explain further?
