Never heard of Lr caring about what lens you are using on import. Which Camera, lens ,Lr version, operating system?
Nikon D750; Nikon 24-120; LR CC 2015;OX Yosemite, v. 10.10.3
I am probably misunderstanding what the "lens support" means. Information on CC refers to "lens profile support." There is a list of supported lenses.
My camera is a Nikon D750; zoom lens is a Nikon 23-120; LR is CC 2015; OX Yosemite v. 10.10.3. I posted this on the board.
Thanks for your help!
If LR does not recognize your lens, the most that that means is that you will not get any automatic lens corrections, should you choose to use that panel in the Develop module.
Thank you. I thought that I probably misunderstood. This helps.
I see these two 24-120 lens profiles for LR 6/CC:
NIKON D3X (Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 24-120mm f4G ED VR) - RAW.lcp
NIKON D3X (Nikon AF-S VR Zoom-NIKKOR 24-120mm f3.5-5.6G IF-ED) - RAW.lcp
Are either of these the lens you are using? Notice that both profiles are for RAW files only.
I am using the f4 lens, which Adobe lists as supported by LR 6 and 5, but not LR CC. (in Lightroom Journal). I understand now that it is only an issue when using lens correction in the development module. I am a long way from doing that.
But, it seems that Lightroom CC isn't an update to Lightroom 6.
I am going to try the import again, knowing that my issues on that are not in any way related to the lens.
The profile list I included in my message, above, is for LR CC. LR CC is LR 6 at the moment, so if you’re not seeing the lens profile it’s likely because you’re viewing a non-raw file, or your lens is actually different.
Is your situation that LR doesn’t automatically choose the lens or is it that you cannot even manually choose the lens?
Please show us a screenshot of LR CC with the file open and the Loup information showing the extension of the file you’re viewing along with the Lens Corrections open and the Profile Setup set to Auto or Default and that the lens profile chosen is None.
