I have a PDF which is about 19 pages long. This PDF includes about 9 images. I'm making sure it's accessible, so I'm adding "Alt Text" to each image. So a box pops up and displays the current image it's adding alt text to. It seems that the alt text box counts each image twice as "1/9 and 2/9" are the same exact image. How come?
Hard to say without having a look at the file. I have not experienced this behavior. Could it be that each image includes two graphic elements, each of which is tagged as a figure? If so, each image should show up as two figure tags in the Tags Pane in Acrobat Pro. If that is the case, you could drag the contents of one figure tag into the other, then delete the empty figure tag. Or, you could re-tag the figure using the Touch Up Reading Order tool.
Hope this helps.

It may have something to do with a shadow or other effect, if an effect was added to the image in InDesign. I.e. drop shadow or inner shadow
