    LR6 Standalone Suddenly Sluggish

      Hello,

I've been using LR3 for years and upgraded to LR6 (standalone) when it was released.  LR6 has been running great for the past ~month, until this morning when it suddenly became very sluggish and unresponsive.  Working in the Library module, scrolling through photos and changing filters/selections is extremely slow - far slower than typical.  Looking at the task manager, I see Lightroom CPU usage is consistently around 60% and memory usage continues to climb until I get a Windows warning stating that I'm almost out of memory.

I have already tried the following without success:

      • Updating LR (it updated from LR 6.0 to 6.0.1)
      • Restarting LR and Windows.  When I close LR6, CPU usage and memory usage instantly drop down to typical idle levels.  As soon as I reopen Lightroom, CPU and memory usage jump back up.
      • Disabling all 3rd party plugins in the Plugin manager
      • Turning off auto face detection in the Catalog settings screen (it was already off)
      • I noticed that in the Library module, when I switch to the People View screen, and then switch back to the Grid View screen, CPU usage drops down to idle for ~5-10 seconds and the system becomes responsive again; after ~5-10 seconds CPU usage jumps back up and the system becomes unresponsive.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.  I'm a little confused as LR6 was running stably for ~1 month; I haven't changed any hardware configuration between when it was running stably and when it became unstable.
