WHY IS MY FULLY MAXED OUT RETINA 5K IMAC PATHETIC RENDERING LIGHTROOM 6

    SNEKLIFTER

      Hello all,

Anyone having the same diabolical performance issues as me, with Lightroom 6 rendering on a retina 5k iMac.

I have just purchased a standalone license of Lightroom 6, in the hope that it would render my images far quicker than Lightroom 5.7 which in my opinion is slow, taking approx 2 seconds to render a raw file from my Canon 5D mark iii.

To my horror Lightroom 6 take approx 4 seconds. Not good!!  I have tried adjusting the displays resolution, but it makes little difference.

My lcat is on the internal fusion drive, and my library is on an external G-Raid Studio.

My machine specs are as below.

      iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2014)

      AMD Radeon R9 M295X 4096 MB

      4 GHz Intel Core i7

      32 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

      3TB Fusion drive

      Running Yosemite 10.10.3

Connected to a G-Raid studio 8TB external storage.

This should not be happening with equipment of this quality!!

Any comments or help would be much appreciated.

      Cheers,

      Guy.
