I want to get rid of the Welcome screen when I launch InDesign CC 2014. Scroll to the bottom and tick the 'Don't Show Welcome Screen Again' checkbox you say? Not so fast.
To ensure consistent output on all my Mac workstations, InDesign preferences are refreshed (via shell script) to a custom set each time the workstation is restarted or shutdown. Although I enabled the above checkbox BEFORE the custom preference set was saved, each time the preference files are refreshed to my custom set, the Welcome screen reappears.
I believe the issue is related to OS X caching.
Can anyone help me figure this out?
Thank you for the reply! It only works after InDesign is launched, closed, and then relaunched. Same thing again after a reboot.
My guess is that somewhere a setting with the Welcome screen still enabled is being cached.
I got it figured out. Had to issue a Terminal command to get rid of the cached setting. CC 2014 apps now open without the Welcome screen
