In Lightroom, you can create a smart collection and specify the capture date as the range but you cannot make a collection for a specific month regardless of the year.
You can follow the instructions in the below article to create a smart collection :
Thanks Bob- for the plugin suggestion.
This is a 'work-around' to achieve a similar result, using Keywords- (then a collection could search for keywords)
Use the library grid 'Metadata' filter to find images by Date, then select 'all' and apply a keyword (eg. May, June, July, etc).
In the 'Date' filter you can select multiple lines (for a month) by holding CTRL as you click on each.
In future you will only have to do this once each year to add the month keyword.
Thanks Chetna for the response. Since you apparently are an Adobe employee, I wanted to let you know that there is a request for this functionality in Photoshop.com titled
"Lightroom; Date search by month." It would be great if Adobe would add it to both Lightroom and Photoshop Elements. Apple's Aperture has it and it is used more than people think.
Thanks Wobert for the suggestion to add the month as a keyword. Will try the plugin first and if it doesn't work, then this idea is next.
Thank you Bob. I just downloaded the plugin. It did the trick!
