Flash vs Win 8

OS : Win 8.1 64-bit

Drivers : All updated

Issue : Will not play any video and when it attempts to, it will automatically crash then and there for both Firefox and Chrome. I've looked into the plug-ins as far as whats installed and when I was using win 7 on my other laptop before it kicked the bucket, everything looked to be the same. Also, was checking with the HTML5 thing as well. I can see a video when clicking that link in this website but not the non-video link. Sooo that too also sounds like an issue as well. Not to mention Shockwave Player was there but tends to vanish somewhere and reappear at random times

Any ideas?
