Your original images are just files on you hard drive(s). You can copy them to the USB stick using the OS tools if you so desire.
Technically, you can do an "export as original" as a second export operation, if that is your desire.
I normally have my photos organized so that there is an "originals" folder and a "edited" folder at the leaves of the directory tree so that both versions of the files are near each other.
By any chance do you know where the edited raw pictures would be? when i exported the pictures it only showed the jpegs. (Sorry just barely taking photography classes and its all new to me)

LR does not edit the raw files. The edit instructions are stored in the catalog. When you want to see the edited images outside of LR, you need to export the edits into JPG or TIF files.
