    Templates tutorial

    Salva66

Hello everyone! recently I bought the version 5 of after effects, and I like to experiment a bit, I follow some tutorials on the net there are a lot, but unfortunately some of this tutorials are only movies that people put it to show how good they are with after effects! and have the courage to call it tutorial, however I'm not here to criticize, but to ask you some expert help, in the network there are many templates ready to be bought and some are free to download, very nice, but I want to learn to create them from me, and unfortunately not in the network is almost nothing, if I write  in google search : "templates tutorial", I find only pages where you can buy or download them, I do not know if anyone has done some step by step tutorial for beginners like me, if someone of you know any good tutorial would be really happy. Thanks!

You create templates exactly in the same way as any other AE projects. There is no difference.

Do you have specific problems that you want to learn about?

          Cheers

            Hi Mathias!

Thank you for the answer, my problem really is that until now I have only edited video and added effects in them, but with the templates I've never worked therefore, I wonder how they are made, such as creating these templates where you can change the text or images or video and how to add special effects in them!

            Cheers

To figure out how a template works look at the flowchart first then start digging through the nested comps. To analyze a comp select the layers and press the u key twice. This will reveal all modified properties and effects. That should get you started.

Yes thank you for the answer, I have done this i have seen many layers and many text and images, I want to know and this can be done just by looking at a tutorial step by step as they are added to the various objects which parameters you have to adjust, and how you get to the end point to combine the final movie, even if I tear a templates and see a casino of layers does not help me much, anyway thanks for your answers ..

There are millions of ways to put together a template so asking for a tutorial on all templates or even generic templates is a tall order. I would check out Adobe TV, Video CoPilot, Video Hive, Layers Magazine, Lynda.com and Total Training for the best AE Tutorials. Mucking through YouTube for AE tutorials is as likely to give you poor and inefficient workflows as it it to give you good advice. You have to know who is teaching you and what their level of expertise is so you don't end up with incorrect assumptions and poor techniques.
