    CameraRAW dos not indecate CR2

In 2009 i bought a CS4 Photoshop Extended Student Edition which i used without any problems since. Now i achieved a new camera (EOS 5D Mark III). However, the RAW type dates, that this camera makes (ending CR2) are not indicated by Camera RAW. I have not succeedet to install the respected update (version 5.7) from the website of Adobe. Is there a certain reason or do i make a mistake? Perhaps you can help me.

That camera was first supported in Camera Raw 6.7, which is only compatible with Photoshop CS5. You have a few alternative remedies.

          1. Subscribe to the creative cloud and use Photoshop CC.

          2. Purchase Photoshop CS6, available from Adobe, $699.

          3. Purchase Lightroom 6, available from Adobe, $149.

          4. Download the DNG converter, available from Adobe, free. Create digital negative copies of your raw images that you can open with what you are using now.
