I purchased the Lightroom 6 upgrade (upgrading from 5.7).
The installation process seemed to work fine, however when I ran the program it wanted to convert the old catalog.
It started the conversion but crashed the program before completing. I tried several times
with the same results. I uninstalled the upgrade and re-installed version 6. It crashed again on start up during the
catalog conversion. I am at a loss as to what I can do to make LR 6 work properly.
This is not the creative cloud software. I have upgraded lightroom many times in the past
(still have versions 4 and 5 on disk).
Anyone have some suggestions about how I might fix this.
Does only Lightroom crash, or does the whole computer crash?
Is there an error message? If so, please quote the complete exact error message
It is only LR which crashes. The message that displays states:
Adobe Photoshop Lightroom has stopped working. The message box gives only one option - to close the program.
I am running Windows 8.1 on a Dell 8500.
