    Layers

      Hi eveyone,
I'm pretty new to dreamweaver, i recently did a course to learn DW but unfortunatey they didnt teach much apart from how to create templates & buttons.. pretty much the complet basics.

Im working on a site at the moment where i wish the entire page to appear in one box visible without scrolling. i want the navigation bar and banner to stay in the same place and just the content tobe scrollable if necessary(does that make sense?)

Do i use layers to acheive this? i have tried but when uploading the page the layer allways seems to move to the left of the page?

Please help?! im not entirely sure if this is the best way to acheive what i want..

      Thanks

          Yes. Unfortunately.

No. Use frames to accomplish that. However, frames come with plenty of
warts, and are rarely the optimal choice for any site.

There are problems with your goal. For example, what about people whose
browser viewport is SHORTER than you anticipate? They then get TWO
scrollbars - not an enviable situation. Also, what about people who want to
print the contents of the page, only to discover that it's just the visible
          area that prints?

          You know what I mean?
