Cannot install Adobe Acrobat 9.0 Yosemite

Bought a new Macbook Pro running Yosemite. Have the Acrobat 9.0 DVD but it simply hangs. Any ideas?

I'm on Windows but I have a few saved Mac links that may help

Yosemite sometimes has problems, often related to "default" permissions needing to be changed
