It’s easily done, but on the desktop machine. If you set your collection to custom order from the pull-down menu on the tool bar you can drag the thumbnails into any order and they will remain in those fixed positions. When you click on the icon to the left of the collection name to start sync the images should appear on the device in the same order.
I knew that but I thought the ios app would be a little bit more than only a showcase. It is possible as we can see with the revel app, so I was simply wondering why a lightroom app shouldn't have the same functionalities as a the revel app.
One can use CUSTOM ORDER on regular collections, but not on smart collections. It is also possible to select custom order on the iPad app, but the menu for it is somewhat hidden.
Yes, you can use CUSTOM ORDER but this only reflects the custom order in your desktop collection. I meant to ask for a feature to sort manually within the iPad app.
Apparently this is not possible but would be a big help for people working with collections. I am especially surprised about this because I thought Lightroom should be a more professional approach than Adobe Revel and in the ios app of revel it is possible.
But, as I said, there is a custom order in the iPad app. It is somewhat difficult to find but it works. I guess, by manual sort you mean dragging photos around to reposition them. I don't have my iPad with me now and cannot tell you where the selection is located in menus. SORRY.
search custom order in Lightroom mobile.
i know where to find the custom order in the iPad app but as i said before, it doesn't allow manually dragging the photos which is possible in the revel ipad app.
Coming both from Adobe i find this a bit odd but maybe there are not so many users working with series and wish to be able to sort them both in the desktop and the mobile app.
I still hope someone is listening and it might be implemented in a future update.
