    Why does Lightroom CC refuse to open after latest update?


      I updated Lightroom (via) CC two days ago and since then it will not open. The splash screen appears but then an error message announced that "a problem caused the program to stop working" and that "Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."


      I have followed the suggestions in Adobe PS/Lightroom Help to sign out and then back in to Creative Cloud (via the desktop app), and to rename the SLCache and SLStore folders. Neither suggestion works.


      I am running Windows 7 (Pro) on a fairly new Dell computer with a high-grade processor and lots of RAM. I still have LR 5 installed so for now I can use that, but do want a fix to the LR CC problem. Any suggestions (other than the ones I have already tried) are welcome.
