Just COPY the videos from the cards to your hard drive. then deal with importing them after you have them safe on your hard drive. Could be they are in the .MOV format. IIRC that is an older Apple Mac video file format that not even Apple supports anymore. If that is the case, which I'm not sure it is, change you camera to record videos in a different format. There should be an option for AVCHD and or MP4.
I just checked and LR does support .MOV files. Do you have enough space on your computers hard drive to COPY or MOVE those files off the cards to your drive?
Thank you, copying will at least allow me to format my cards and use them tonight.
Yes, I have ample space for the files.
They are quicktime mov. files. Interesting there is even that choice of video format as this model of camera has only been out about 6 months! I will try changing formats and see if that works.
I very much appreciate your quick reply! Wildlife videos cannot be duplicated.
Though LR 5 is supposed to support .mov files I continued to have problems downloading. Copying and pasting them into my folders got them off my flash cards so I could use them again, but they don't want to import.
I switched my video format to mp4 and there was no further problem with importing.
Thank you for your help.
