This will depend on (a) the version of InDesign you have and (b) the operating system. Open dialog boxes are mostly controlled by the operating system. Tell us that information so we can try to help.
What problem are you having with the Open dialog that requires it to be resized?
Hey Thanks, I'm using CS5, system 10.10.3
Problem I have when working in indesign, I want to place say an eps file. Or open another indesign document. The dialogue box I get is too small to see my folder full of other documents or eps, tiff files. I can obviously resize by dragging. But I'm having to do this dozens of times everyday. Its driving me nuts.
I'm not running CS5, but I'm running OS X 10.10.3.
For me, when I resize the Open dialog box larger, it's "sticky". When I close the first dialog, and open a second one, it stays at the same size. Not for you?
No each time I want to place something, the dialogue box reverts back to the smaller size. Even after I have manually dragged the box larger. ?
I tried the Place dialog box in CS6, the earliest version of InDesign I have installed. Have no problems in Yosemite.
I'm sorry, but I think it may be an incompatibility between CS5 and Yosemite. CS5 isn't supported under Yosemite so I think you're on your own.
You could try restoring your InDesign preferences to see if that fixes it.
