On what computer is your Premiere Elements 13 running? And, have you updated 13 to 13.1 yet using an opened project's Help Menu/Updates? If not, please do that.

Are you doing a burn to Blu-ray disc or to ISO Image 4.7 GB or 8.5 GB?

Have you looked at the issue with and without the Intel HD Graphics 2000 and Higher preference enabled in Edit Menu/Preferences/General? If not, please do that.

What is the Space Required and Bitrate in the burn dialog with the Blu-ray disc in the burner tray and just before you hit the Burn button?

Do you have a check mark next to "Fit Content To Available Space"? Are you getting a warning icon at the bottom left of the workspace?

Please review, consider, and then let us know the results. Based on the details in your reply, we can decide what next if needed.

          Thank you.

              Thanks for the reply.

We need to rule in or out the Intel HD Graphics 2000 and Higher preference in this matter.

Please look further into with or without this preference enabled in Edit Menu/Preferences/General.

Also, any thoughts of taking your 4 GB installed RAM to at least 8 GB?

What were you successfully putting on DVD disc - DVD-VIDEO or AVCHD format?

Please consider and then we will decided what next.

              Thanks.

Color me blind. Tried to burn Blu-ray with Graphics 2000 Hardware Acceleration On and OFF. Tried clearing HDD space to 60GB.

Thanks for the update. Sorry the news was not better. But, do not give up yet.

                  1. Do you have any BD-RE disc 25 GB that you can use for troubleshooting?

                  2. Do you have a drive with more than 60 GB free space?

Depending on the answers to the above....

                  1. Go to Edit Menu/Preferences/Scratch Discs and point the Disc Encoding category to a drive with 500 GB or more free space.

(At the current time, where is Disc Encoding pointed and how much free hard drive space is listed there?)

                  2. Also, make a copy of your project, and use the copy to delete 1/2 the Timeline content. Then try the burn to Blu-ray disc format on the Blu-ray disc.

Right now I am suspecting "1" targets issue since you are working from 60 GB free hard drive space. Please describe your drive/free hard drive space situation.

                  Thanks.

Thanks for exploring that hard drive space factor.

Right now that consideration is top of the troubleshooting list.

                          Thanks for the update.

Attach the USB external hard drive (formatted NTFS and not FAT32) to the computer. To determine the format of the external hard drive, please right click the drive in File Explorer (Windows 8 and 8.1) or Windows Explorer (Windows earlier than 8), select Properties. That should have that information.

Please do this with a copy of your current problem project (File Menu/Save A Copy)...give it a new name and save to the USB external hard drive.

With copy project opened to the Expert workspace, go to Edit Menu/Preferences/Scratch Discs and set all the categories to Same As Project.

The Disc Encoding path and other category paths there should then be pointed to the external hard drive. Note the amount of free hard drive space that each category of Scratch Disks has. What is it now as compared to before?

Please consider, and let me know if the details work for you. If not, please let me know in what way they do not work.

                          Thank you.

                            A.T.

Latest try: Connect a USB HDD to the PC. Copy the project (.MPG, 4.50GB) to the HDD.

Open Premiere Elements, choose new project, add the project media from the USB HDD (E:\).

                            Select Expert, then File/Preferences/Scratch Discs.

Set disc encoding paths to E:\. Each has 174GB showing. Note: all of the Categories now say “Custom”.

(If Categories are selected as “Same as Project” the Paths show the original C: drive with 58GB each.)

                            Select Publish/Blu-ray/Fit Contents checked. Burn.

(Encoding is much slower with the USB Disk.)

After several hours Burn is at 98% with the word “Error” displayed. Disk was not burned.

The USB HDD now contains the folders Encoded Files and Media Cache Files along with the original Project.MPG.

BTW: During the above trial, I burned the same Blu-ray project on my slower Win 7 PC. Three times longer, but was successful.

                            Thanks,

                              Thanks for the latest results.

You want the project file (.prel) directed to the external hard drive save location along with those scratch disks which you set "Same As Project".

If the Edit Menu/Preferences/Scratch Disks are showing the C drive path when set to "Same As Project", then the project file (.prel) would be expected to be still on the C drive on not the external hard drive.

Project files have a small file size, so I am guessing that all you transferred to the external hard drive so far are source media for the project (the 4.5 GB .mpg file).

Please consider incorporating the following into your burn to disc Blu-ray...

                              1. Open project, go to File Menu/Save As and change the name of the project and set its save location as the external hard drive.

                              2. Makes sure the Edit Menu/Preferences/Scratch Disks are still set for "Same As Project" and show a path to the external hard drive.

                              3. Open the project with the new save in location, make sure of your project preset and the rest, import your source media to the Timeline.

                              4. When it comes time for the Publish+Share/Disc/Blu-ray disc, make sure not to have a check mark next to "Fit Content to Available Space" if your burn dialog Space Required is less than 23 GB.

Please let us know if you are OK with the above details. If not, please indicate where I need to clarify.

                              Thanks.

Message is “Media not Present”.

Hook up external Blu-ray burner; same thing.

Load a smaller project and use a DVD-R disk. Burn is successful, twice.

Spent some time reading your replies to other users regarding this problem. Apparently the problem is due to a programming issue in Adobe Premiere Elements 13. I will await a program update. In the meantime, I can split the larger projects and burn two DVDs.

I have not tried removing PE13 and reinstalling. Will do when time is available. Will also try on a fresh (new) PC.

                                    Thanks,

Great job in follow through on the troubleshooting.

That Media Not Present is a tough Premiere Elements issue to overcome. At this point, I think that the uninstall, free ccleaner run through, and reinstall with antivirus and firewall(s) disabled is a chance at a solution...but no guarantees.

The new computer results would be interesting also....noting any obvious differences between old and new if Media No Present is gone in the new.

How do I burn to blu-ray disc  when I get the error message "media not present"?

Uninstalled PE13, ran Ccleaner (files and registry), reinstalled PE13. No joy; “Media not present”.

How do I update PE 13?

With PE13 I can “burn” an iso file of a movie to an hdd location. The question is now: How do I make a Blue-ray disk of the movie from the iso file? I have tried IMG Burn and several other freebies, but they do not deliver a BR disk playable on a BD player. Dies the iso file need converting first? (Note: I am a pretty good IT technician with networks, but a newbie with video.)

You have run into a known problem which apparently Adobe is aware of, but is pointing us to a possible correction in the next Premiere Elements version.

In your case, the problem is the file size of the Premiere Elements produced Blu-ray .iso file that is your problem.

With the Premiere Elements produced .iso (over 1 GB file size) on your Blu-ray disc, it is a no go. I have not found .iso conversion to be the answer.

Premiere Elements burn to Blu-ray does not have a burn to folder option as does DVD-VIDEO DVD and AVCHD DVD. So, you are left with burn to Blu-ray disc format on Blu-ray disc.

The details of the Premiere Elements iso file problem can be found
