          Hi Louis,

We would require a lot more information in order to help you out.

Are you using Windows or Mac?

What is the error message when it crashes?

Which graphic card are you using?

Thank you for posting on Adobe Forums.

It seems that the first line of defense with this problem would be to disable GPU acceleration in your Lightroom preferences.

                Hi Louis,

There has been issues reported with AMD graphic card with Lightroom.

Please open device manager and right click on the AMD graphic card and choose browse my computer and then choose update driver software, choose let me pick from a list of drivers.

Choose standard VGA or Microsoft basic display adaptor. Then launch Lightroom and click on edit>Preferences>performance and uncheck the graphic processor.

Update your display drivers automatically now and launch Lightroom again and check.

Thank you for posting on Adobe Forums.

Before switching to a Standard MS VGA driver I'd definitely just deactivating the GPU acceleration: Lightroom Graphics Processor Acceleration (GPU) Troubleshooting & FAQ

                    Already update video card drivers

LR 5 worked fine.... so now it doesn't support GPU,

                    Using standard VGA is unacceptable.

I'll go back to LR 5 I don't need face rec.

Your card is not supported. Forget the tip to switch to standard VGA driver given by GautamBahl and leave your current driver in place. Simply un-check the GPU acceleration in LR6 and restart LR6. This should do the trick - there's no need to go back to LR5.

                          Hi Louis,

As you can see from the report OpenGL Support:failed, Lightroom 5 is working fine on your machine as it does not depend on your graphic card.

This feature was introduced in Lightroom CC. There has been issues reported with AMD graphic card and we are working on it.

For the time being i would recommend to uncheck the graphic processor option. The standard VGA option was suggested, incase you are not able to get to the interface of Lightroom CC.

If you are able to launch Lightroom CC, then simply go to preferences>performance and uncheck the graphic processor and re launch Lightroom CC.

                          Thanks

FYI;  i don't use LRCC, i use the standalone both LR and PS.

After unchecking box on the graphic processor option, nothing changed. Still random crashes.

Finally able to save on exit.

I am unable to do optimize database or check it. Those process corrupt it.

                            I just upgraded to 6.1.

Not sure if anything has changed,

I wonder why my AMD graphic card using the graphic processor option works and doesn't crash in PS6  ???

I am looking at Graphics Card and need to find out what one will work with my MB.

                            Thanks

                            Lou
