If you have done nothing to try to convert that code then based on what I see the code is not AS3. While it might not be compatible with AS1 it is at most AS2. You would have to look up the various commands to see which were introduced in AS2 and possibly did not exist in AS1.
You oughta see if you can get your hands on MX 2004 so that you can work with AS2 instead.
The way you present the code all mashed together it is unlikely anyone would try to untangle it.
There are a few issues in your code. They are all variations of three things, underscores are not used now, some of your variables are now reserved keywords, and scales are in a 1.0 range, not a 100 range. Here are some examples:
_parent would now be parent
_parent._x would be parent.x
this._width would be this.width
scaleX needs to change, to say pScaleX or gScaleX
_parent._scaleX = 100 * scaleX would be parent.scaleX = pScaleX, because scale is now 0-1, not 0-100
Those will get you started.
On the untangling point, it wasn't too hard to copy and paste, and auto format!
On the posting part... you missed the OP's request. AS1 code is desired, not AS3.
On the untanglining point, you should direct your response to the OP and explain the process so that it can be done properly. I have no interest in doing it.
Ha! Nicely spotted. Given that it was AS1/2 I misread the request.
