Hello, I got a question about placing a image into text.
I did the create outlines of the text to be able to place the graphic inside. My text is 5 words and makes two lines inside the box.
when I do the create outlines it gives me 2 separate compound path layers for top and bottom line.
How can I be able to make that into one compound layer to place image that expands both lines?
First, there are two ways to outline type. The default creates anchored objects. You want a separate object so hold down the Option/Alt key when creating outlines. Drag the new outlines to separate them from the text frame.
It's helpful to open the Layers panel and view the contents of the layer. You have created a group that consists of two compound paths. In the Layers panel expand the layer so you can see the structure. Shift-select the two compound paths. (Make sure the Group is not selected.)
Then choose Object > Paths > Make Compound Path. That makes the two compound paths into one. Then you can place or paste into the single compound path.
Thank you for clearing that up. I was trying for a while but was getting no where. Appreciate it!
