Scrolling through Map Tags to Styles option window changes document styling

I have an InDesign doc with an XML import and mapped tags to styles.  I'm having an issue (among many other issues dealing with XML in InDesign) where the act of scrolling through the "Map Tags to Styles" window randomly changes the document's styling and/or reassigns styles to tags without my input. It seems like an obvious bug, but I can't find any mention of it on the interwebs. If I scroll up and down through the list a few times, InDesign will randomly change the styling of the document with each scroll (I can watch it happen to the document below the palette window).

My only recourse is to hit Cancel and try it again without scrolling.

      Anyone?
