Hi, I am wondering what is the correct/best way to set up a document for 54 double sided playing cards in InDesign. I worry about it being in the correct format and order when I take it to the printers. (Im still a beginner at InDesign) Any suggestions for how to set up the document? Thanks
Ask the printer.
Long ago I worked in a place that made trading cards. We built a single inDesign document for each press form, with a page for each card design. The actual press layout was imposed for print at the output stage. Most like your printer is going to do the same thing. Bob is right. Before you go any further, ask the printer what they expect to receive from you.
I recently had a playing card project. Although every printer may have different requirements, here is the way my printer requested files: Supply 2 print ready PDFs. One, all fronts in order that we wanted the finished stack. And then a second document for common backer. My printer also gave a trim dimension slightly different than a standard size.
