I suppose I am out of luck, then. Welp.
You haven't really provided much for us to help you. OS? Version of ID?
Have you tried a different user? Have you tried starting in Safe mode? HOW did you trash the prefs? Did you run the cleaner tool before reinstalling?
Sorry about that! I did provide my OS above. My version is 10.0.0.7, and I've tested the solutions also in 10.0.2 with little luck.
I only have one single user on my PC, but I can try and create another one in order to test it out.
I've trashed prefs in two ways -- the first time I manually changed the files, and the second time I used the Ctrl + Shift + Alt shortcut. Neither worked.
I just reinstalled after using the cleaner tool and still no avail. The only things I've not tried yet are Safe Mode and different user. I'll try safe mode and let you know.
Alright, I started up in Safe Mode and no dice. When I click open I get a very short loading wheel next to my cursor but still no screen. Tried trashing prefs there, no deal.
EDIT: I also tried on another User Account, and the same issue persists.
Anything you could suggest?
During the Cleaner tool I'm getting the following message:
"Some files could not be cleaned up. PLease try closing your internet/web browser, and rerun the Clean Tool to complete your clean-up."
My browser was closed during this, so I took a look at the log file, and I found this:
CoreSync custom hook not found
Then a bunch of warnings with "failed to remove file".
Any idea how to parse these errors? I'll try restarting for a blank slate and doing so.
Do you by chance use an Extensis font manager?
I do not. I don't use any font manager, to the best of my knowledge!
OK. Not sure where we go from here.
