Sorry, but I don't understand how this answers my question. Are you saying that Elements 13 will already host ACR 8.7 and allow me to import 7D Mark II raw files?
If not, will there soon be an Elements-compatible version of ACR which will read the 7D Mark II raw files, when will it be available, and which version of Elements will be needed to host it?
It would be a waste of $120 for me to upgrade to Elements 13 if it does not host a version of ACR that will read 7DII raw files, especially if I then had to spend another $120 to upgrade again to Elements 14 to achieve that functionality.
Look at the linked webpage. It tells what versions of ACR work with what apps.
So, can I get a simple "yes" or "no" to this, then, please: If I upgrade to Elements 13, will it host a version of ACR that will be compatible with the Canon 7D Mark II raw files?
I can see in the linked webpage that Elements 13 will host ACR 8.7.1. Is this version of ACR 8.7.1, then, compatible with the 7D MkII raw files? Other discussions I saw made it seem that only CS6 worked with this camera.
Yes, pse 13 can be updated to camera raw 9, which covers the canon 7D MkII.
After you get pse 13, you just need to go to Help>Updates from the pse 13 editor to get the camera raw 9 plugin update.
This page hasn't been updated in awhile to reflect the newest camera raw versions
Thank you, R_Kelly. That's the answer I needed.
It took all day to install the software and the updates (rebooting my computer helped, but something was still slow about this), but your recommendation worked. THANK YOU!!! With PSE13 and APS9 I am able to read the 7D Mark II raw files.
