I recently moved my photo archive to a compressed drive (using Windows 7). Things work very well, Lightroom recognizes all the files and structures and such without too much trouble.
We have noticed recently though that Lightroom will import photos more than once, despite the "New Photos" and "Do not import suspected duplicates" options being selected. I was wondering if this might have anything to do with using the compressed drive; and if not, does anyone have suggestions about why this might be happening?
At the current cost of hard drives, Dirt Cheap, Why not just buy a bigger drive. Personally I've never used drive compression on any drive and the only time I compress any files is to send them in an email.
Best of luck sorting this out.
I'm not arguing that point; but I was curious if others had experienced this. I'm not sure if the compression is causing my multiple-import issues, or if there is some other cause ... so if lots of users have no issue then probably there's something else going on.
