I do not save my photos on my computer. I save them on 2 external hard drives. I have approx. 8,000 photos on my 1 tb g-tech external hard drive. It is almost full (950 of 1,000 gb). I have done some extensive retouching on many of the photos. Could this be why the drive is almost full? Besides deleting unwanted images, is the a way to free up hard drive space?
The editing you do in Lightroom does not affect the size of the photos (and even if you save it to the files, it takes up a trivial amount of space compared to the actual photos). The editing is stored in the catalog file ... which disk is that on?
If the drive is full, you probably should get a new drive and start putting the new photos on that new drive.
Thanks for the info.
