Portfolios-what is the difference between Password Security, Certificate Security, and Adobe LifeCycle Rights Management?

I would like to use Acrobat DC Pro to create secured Portfolios. These will be used to store payable files which should not be viewed by most employees. What is the difference between Password, Certificate Security, and Adobe LifeCycle Rights Management?

Password, Certificate Security, and Adobe LifeCycle Rights Management encryption methods for portfolios are the same as for single PDFs. If you are a novice to Acrobat encryption Adobe Acrobat X Pro * Choosing a security method will help. You can either have the portfolio itself unencrypted, and encrypt all or some files with whatever method you choose, or encrypt the portfolio itself and, again encrypt or not encrypt files that you place in the portfolio. Each encrypted file may use the same or different encryption method with the same or different credentials. You can encrypt portfolio encrypting file attachments only. In this case portfolio itself is not encrypted but all files in portfolio are encrypted with the same method/credential. When a user opens this portfolio the list of files shows up. When the user clicks on a file in the list Acrobat checks credentials (in the case of the password security it asks for the password) before opening the file.
