I am creating a catalog for the first time and am having issues with the master pages. I created a document that is just holding my master pages for me, however each time I make a change to a master page and sync it across all documents in the book, I end up with duplicated boxes on my page. (the set up for this book is pretty confusing and I am not sure if I am setting it up the best way, so if there are any other suggestions please let me know!)
I need to have a way to have each section be a different color, accomodate for a 1,2, or 3 page chapter, and have page versions for a left or right handed page, as not all chapter lengths are the same, and I want the next chapter to start up on the next page. (keeping in mind that this is a catalog type of book, so there are lots of things changing throughout the book, but need to stay consistent at the same time.
You need to make a new master page for each instance, so that you do not override any master items on a document page. You can base the masters on a main master in order to keep things consistent.
That would be normal behavior for any master frame that has been overridden onto the document page, by placing content into it, for example.
Yeah, I have master pages created for each instance that are based off of a main master, however, if I go back and make a change to the master page, when I sync it, it creates a duplicate version of the page on top of the already existing content.
