A longish document I'm working on (an update to an old one) has many cross-references, hyperlink destinations etc. I am in the middle of updating it, I went to open the Hyperlinks panel and it crashed the document. I have tried saving as IDML but hyperlinks still causes it to crash. I suspect that there is a dodgy cross-ref somewhere but I'm unable to get into the hyperlinks panel to even start investigating. If necessary I don't mind taking all hyperlinks and bookmarks out and starting again with them, but I don't see how I can do it without being able to get the panel open. Please help, is there a shortcut to removing all interactive elements? I REALLY don't want to start the document again from scratch!
Hyperlinks panel is OK in other files?
Not sure how hyperlinks or cross-references are handled in tagged text, but you could try exporting the story to ID Tagged Text and placing that into a new file. To do that put the cursor anywhere in a story, but don't select anything, then File > Export...
