It sounds like you're not signed in or sync is paused. Go to the Identity Plate - top left of Library - and you can sign in and restart the sync process.
Should have mentioned that in my question. I'm signed in, and the sync is not paused. The identity plate says "Sync with Lightroom mobile Waiting for connection". None of the arrow sync symbols are appearing.
We had some users with generall login problems within the CC app.
Do you have also trouble to access e.g. Creative Cloud libraries in PS CC. Just asking to understand if it's a broader CC-app issue.
To solve the issue could you try the steps from here...
Solution 3 helped for some user.
Thanks, Guido (and John).
I do not use Photoshop CC much, hence I do not know if I have issues with CC libraries.
There does seem to be a generalized problem of some sort. I tried the process you suggested - signing out of CC and deleting opm.db - but it did not fix the problem. Still seeking a solution.
Ironically, I have 20 existing collections on LR mobile, but something has changed so that I have no longer have ability to sync with them.
One additional piece of relevant information. Now I cannot seem to stay logged into CC. I login, and a few minutes later the dialog pops up asking me to login. So it does seem to be a generalized login issue. Note that this was NOT happening before I deleted the opm.db file (which, of course, has been re-created).
Do you have still the old opm.db on your machine. If so could you try to replace with the current.
I'll send you some more infos via a private message
We’ve identified a shift in OS 10.10 behavior that seems to be tripping us up and are testing a fix to roll into our next release. Unfortunately the only workaround until then is to downgrade to the previous version of Lightroom. Thanks to all of you who provided details to help us track this down.
When would the next release be coming out. I'm stuck in the middle of processing 3 weddings.
lensandlines, I'll reach out to you offline.
Back-grading to Lr CC 2015 6.0 seems to be impossible to do?
Please can you put 6.0 version back onto Adobe Creative Cloud so that we can download the Point-Zero version and get Lr Mobile working again until you get your fixing done?
I use Lr only for its ability to Upload to the Cloud and for Lr Mobile so I could manage with a plain vanilla Lr 6.0 for the moment because all of my image-editing is done in Bridge-hosted ACR.
To move back to 6.0, you'll need to uninstall 6.1 (https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-remove-app.html)
Then you can grab 6.0.1 from here:
Thank you so much for the Link to 6.0.
I installed it on one of my machines and my files are now syncing to the Cloud from that machine.
But this is where things get very strange:
My other Mac is running Lr CC 2015.1 (6.1) and since I installed 6.0 on this one, that other Mac is also now syncing to the Cloud?!
This defies all logic — unless Adobe has just done some magic upgrading at their end?
The two Macs are not directly connected to each other except by WiFi and they both communicate with the Internet through the same router.
Are these two completely unique catalogs, or did you copy one to the other machine at one point?
The intent is that you should only be able to sync from one catalog. (That’s an extremely frustrating limitation for us too, but we foresaw a lot of problems otherwise. Which we are working on. Anyway…)
If these two machines have completely independent catalogs, then it sounds like the one running 2015.1 may have taken over as the sync catalog. If that’s not what you want, then you’ll want to pause syncing from that copy of Lightroom and re-enable it from the other one.
If one catalog is a copy of the other, Lightroom can’t tell the difference and will try to allow syincing from both, but the results can be a bit unpredictable. I wouldn’t recommend it.
I did indeed copy one catalogue to the other machine (and have done so back and forth several times!) because obviously I want both machines to be using the same versions of any fresh editing of the files.
What is interesting though is that I have now installed Lr CC 2015.1 on both machines and Sync to Cloud is now working on both of them — but I do find that Syncing is an extremely slow operation — even with a fast Internet service.
It would be very helpful if we could prioritize the order in which each Collection is synchronized.
At the moment we can't do that and if you turn-off the Sync for a particular Collection (because you have an urgent need to sync a different Collection), it wipes the data from the de-synced Collection off the Cloud completely so you have to start all over again!
Thanks for that feedback. We are working on improvements to sync time but we really haven’t looked at ways for a customer to influence the order. Can you think of a pattern we could typically lean on, like, “sync the most recently added collection first”? Or is it a totally random thing?
Perhaps the easiest way for the User, would be to have a "Prioritize Sync" Panel in which the User could drag the names of their Collections into their preferred order — in the same way that we can prioritize our Scratch HDs in Photoshop?
I’ll take that suggestion back to the team. Thank you!
I would certainly find a feature like that to be extremely useful.
I previously was able to create collections in Lightroom CC and had the option of synching them with Lightroom Mobile by either clicking on the adjacent square box to the left of the collection name and thereby converting it to a synch icon or right clicking for the context menu and selecting the 'synch' option or from the File Menu, selecting the sync option. Now I have no 'synch' icon, no sync option in the context menu from the collection and the option is no longer listed in the File Menu. Any help to restore my Lightroom CC Mobile feature would be appreciated.
I think, and hope, that I may have finally got Lr CC 2015.1 and Lr Mobile running properly.
After poking around in hidden html files in the Mobile albums, I saw a mention of JAVA being needed.
On a hunch, I downloaded the latest version for Mac (Java 8 Update 51) from Oracle and it seems to have been the magic bullet?!
My files are now Syncing from Desktop Lr and are coming into my iPad.
Thanks so much for the continued attempts at correcting the problem of Lightroom CC not being able to synchronize Collections with LR Mobile. I followed your instructions and had no trouble locating and downloading the latest Java 8 Update 51 and installed it successfully and rebooted and opened Lightroom CC only to be greeted with the same scenario of not being able to sync any Collections. I can still create collections on my iPhone 6 and they will synchronize with iPad LR CC Mobile but not to my Desktop LR CC on my iMac-27 5K or my iPad or my MacBookPro. I am still looking for a remedy for my MacBookPro LR CC and my iMac-27 LR CC that both use the same catalog (copy and paste wirelessly). Please keep me posted if anyone discovers a way to rectify this glitch. That is one reason I purchased Lightroom CC (instead of Lightroom 6) so I could use the Lightroom Mobile feature (which use to work for me but doesn't now).
I can only say that after I updated JAVA, Lr CC is now working seamlessly for me. I also deleted Lr CC 2015.1 and then re-installed a fresh copy of it from the Cloud and ran Disk Utility after doing that.
My image files are being imported into Lr CC on my MBP from a distant Computer's external HD via WiFi;
Imported into Lr CC with Smart Previews being created during importation;
put into a Collection; and Synced to Mobile.
One Collection contains nearly 3000 images and edits done in Lr are now updating immediately on my iPad and, vice versa, edits done in Lr on the iPad flow straight back into my Collection on my MBP.
Lr Mobile is also working properly on my iPhone.
The MBP has now built its own Catalogue but it started from the same Catalogue that I have on my Mac Pro tower.
I haven't yet tried to copy the MBP Catalogue (with the new edits in it) back to the Mac Pro and launch Lr CC on that machine.
That will be the next thing that I need to test.
