The correct answer probably depends on what you mean by "synchronize lightroom".
Since GoogleDrive brings down files onto your hard drive, you can import photos from that directory into LR.
You could use your GoogleDrive folder as an export location to send edited images to the cloud.
Putting your LR catalog into that directory would probably not work as desired, base on reports from others.

Now i know that it´s not possible to do what i want, yet.
I have my google drive folder syncronized with lightroom, but i woud like to have acces to google drive trough lightroom. Manage my google drive folders using lightroom all folders those synchronized and those not.
I´ve just made a suggestion in the photoshop family community, I think this should be a major implementation, the ability to use cloud services as "real drives".
