Hello, I am just designing a book which has 5 versions, 5 languages. I finished the first version and I have the Photos and the texts in only one Layer alltogether. As the printing mill will print first the PDFs of the total quantity of the five languages, but only the Photos (without the texts), and later by separate each language but only the texts (no photos). Therefore I need to have the project with 2 layers: one for the Photos and another one for the texts. The problem is I do not remember how to prepare the layers. How can I come back from one layer (Photos and texts in same layer) to include them in two layers, one for the Photos and one for the texts, so that I can hide the one or the other. Thank you. Daniel Bruhin W.
You have to work with every layers like
Now turn of the layers, you will not need for the specific print.
There are ways to Find/Change objects, but moving found objects to a different layer is not among the Change options available. If the document is too big to sort out manually, it may be possible to script a solution. You should post your question in the InDesign Scripting forum.
