Are you saying it looks different in 2015 even on projects you've worked on in CC 2014?
Does it look different in CC 2014 too?
I did not get the chance to simulate your observations with a different raw format between 2014 and 2015, but makes me think and wonder if it might have anything to do with camera drivers needing to be installed after AE installation
what makes me think of that is the fact that in Premiere 2015, my BM sequence presets did not show up after original PP 2015 installation. In order to have the BM sequence presets added into PP 2015 sequence presets was to install the BM Camera Setup (drivers) after PP 2015 installation. Not that sequence presets did anything for me, or that it allowed PP to interpret the footage differently, but it did have an effect as to how PP incorporated the BM files.
So, as for your Sony - I wonder how AE would interpret your RAW footage if you re-install your camera drivers, or what-ever the proper process is to have AE properly interpret your files.
I did not get the chance to do a 'before and after' with AE, as I have already installed my camera drivers after AE 2015 installation, due to 'missing' them in PP 2015
Thanks both for your responses.
Szalam - yes when I open a CC 2014 file in 2015 the footage looks different. This also happens when I just import the RAW footage directly into 2015.
Thanks dummergold - As I'm on a Mac I'd assumed no camera drivers were needed for importing into AE, and I'd actually initially assumed it would be reading all required info from the associated XML files, which it isn't. I've had a search and found a Sony RAW plug-in for Premiere Pro that supports the F55 so will try this out with dynamic linking.
Just to update - turns out the Sony RAW plugin was for previous versions of Premiere prior to the camera's footage being supported as an importable format. All further suggestions welcome!
I couldn't get my interprete footage 'more' to Adobe Camera Raw to update any changes. What I ended up doing was to duplicate my dng sequence and replace footage with same file but different name, then the first instance if ACR set the interpretation properly.
I do not have Sony, I have BM.
