I am working on a document where I want the text to be transparent, so when going to print, the colour of the text is the texture of the paper.
The background is set to black and currently I have the text as white, but when making it transparent, the text disappears of course. I am thinking maybe masking the text? But not sure the location of this?
That is what the paper swatch is for.
Also, changing the [Paper] swatch has no affect on separation output—it gives you a soft proof preview of transparent offset inks on colored paper:
So here my [Paper] swatch is green with Some Text filled with [Paper]
The word WHITE is filled with 0|0|0|0 CMYK white, but it will output the same as [Paper] and you have to turn on Overprint or Separation Preview to see the correct preview:
