I've been using AI up till now to create new characters. It's all good, I open the template, copy in my artwork, rename layers and then move the origins so that they correspond with the layers new positions.
I tried to do the same in PS today and ran into incredible frustration as I cannot for the life of me figure out how to move the F*****g origins in PS?!?!?! I just can't see them or select them. Is there a knack I am missing?
Also, then tried to move the origins and mouse trackers on the Puppet in CA but can't seem to do that there either. Not sure if this is bug behaviour or as designed. Any help would be massively appreciated.
It looks like you need to use the Path Selection Arrow tool, then select origin layer or fixed layer. A VERY TINY x will appear and can be moved. Look in the general area and you should see it if you zoom in.
I've already answered Angie directly, but here's the info for others...
re: selecting guides in a PSD...
You need to switch to the Pen tool (be sure you’re in Shape mode) to see them.
To select them, hold down Cmd (Mac) / Ctrl (Win) while clicking the "x". Then, to drag them, I’ve had better luck by releasing the Cmd/Ctrl key, then holding the Cmd/Ctrl key again while dragging the selected single-point shape.
re: moving guides/handles in the Puppet panel...
Guides created in the artwork file aren’t currently movable in the Puppet panel, but handles you create in the Puppet panel are.
