Premiere Elements 11 on what computer operating system?

What exactly are you dragging to the Expert workspace Timeline of version 11? You say DVD video - what is that

          a. MPEG2.mpg file

          b. DVD video file ripped from a DVD-VIDEO on DVD disc (VTS_01_1.VOB)

          c. Something else?

If you have DVD-VIDEO on DVD disc, and version 11 (assumed Windows)

          a. you insert the disc into the burner tray

          b. assure the project settings of NTSC or PAL DV Standard or Widescreen

          c. Use Add Media/DVD Camera or Computer Drive/Video Importer where you select the files, put a check mark next to "Add to Timeline", and then hit Get Media.

          d. That puts the files on the project's Timeline automatically, no dragging to Timeline.

Or, do you have a bunch of VTS_01_1.VOB files saved on the hard drive and you are trying to import them using Add Media/Files and Folders/Project Assets from where you drag the files to the Timeline?

Please describe the nature of the major problem that you are having, including any error message.

Any questions or need clarification on the above, please ask.

          More details, please.

          Thank you.

Windows 7 is the operating system. The file I'm trying to drag into the timeline is an MPEG. The error that I get is a "generic error". I'll try your tips tonight when I get home from work. Thanks.

              Please do this first.

              What is is MPEG...MPEG2.mpg?

              Thanks
